Honda ST1100
&The Honda ST1100 was produced from 1990 to 2002. Its name ST means Sport Touring while 1100 stands for its engine displacement. The models include ST1100P and ST1300, also known as Pan European. The Honda ST1100 is very effective for long distance running and touring and it also has a low maintenance shaft drive. Its body is comprised of a longitudinal V4 engine layout. The ST1100’s fuel tank is one of the largest motorcycle tanks ever made with a 7.4 US gallon capacity that has a range of 480 kilometers running distance, and the machine was especially made for long distance sport touring as its name implies. The Honda ST1100 is mostly a Cop’s motorcycle.
Its 40 amp air-cooled alternator renders this big machine with low maintenance levels along with its multiple power accesses such as auxiliary lighting and an electrically heated body. As opposed to the previous model manufactured from 1991 to 1995, which only had a 28amp and oil-cooled alternator, this model is a great improvement. Given its big muscular build, this machine packs an optional anti lock brake system or ABS along with its traction control system or TCS.
Earlier models still have separate front and rear braking systems, but the latest mounts a front-rear linked brakes or LBS. The improvements of ST1100 evolves from the old models due to charging systems and a low maintenance shaft drive of today’s latest.
&This machine is mostly designed for a long mileage of travel, and while the old models may give you a little problem, there are always parts and services compatible with the old ones that may render it improved and as good as its latest lineage. Although this model is a bit heavy going around parking in and parking out, the large fuel tank capacity will not pull you over gasoline stops to park and load frequently. With it’s 7.4 gallon tank, it will literally keep you on the road for about 480 kilometers. In addition to this, its bigger cargo room makes it ideal for cross-county travels, so packing all your things is not a big problem.
